About Us

A C Krebs company lot
A.C. Krebs Company was established in 1941 by local businessman, Al Krebs. When the city of Louisville was beginning to boom at rapid pace during the 1930’s and 40’s and was in need of nearby building material providers, Al Krebs did just that. He built a block plant to meet the city’s expansion needs and went on to solidify the masonry industry for more than 30 years. In 1971, after years of producing quality products and much success, the company was purchased by then local Masonry Contractors Doris and Chester Deboe, of Deboe Masonry.

Chester Deboe has continued the tradition of quality block production to this day. With his past experience as a Masonry Contractor he is able to understand and meet the expectations of Owners, Architects, General Contractors, and Masonry Contractors on a project whether it small or large.

Great customer service and the best block craftsmanship in town are not the only attributes we pride ourselves on today, but also innovative design for new products and green building for the environment.

A.C. Krebs is the only manufacturer of Ground-Face block in the state of Kentucky. This attractive grinding technique is widely used by architects for banding and highlighting on the interior and exterior of buildings.

A.C. Krebs is also a proud National Member of the United States Green Building Council. With new design guidelines in place around the country pertaining to the environment, energy efficiency, innovation, standards and technology, we are currently manufacturing two products the can help attain LEED Certification. The NRG Wall System with an R-Factor of 22 can optimize energy performance and our 46% Pre-Consumer recycled material block can help in attaining points in the Materials and Resources Section of the LEED Green Building Rating System.

These are just a few of the products that are manufactured by A.C. Krebs Company used by Architects, Designers, and Contractors. This tradition will continue with our commitment to quality and customer service.
